Does the rental vehicle come with insurance or damage cover?

When do I pay for my rental?
Payment is to be made in full prior to collection of the vehicle for the estimated charges based on the advised rental duration. This amount is ‘estimated’ only as rental periods, vehicles usage and optional extras may be altered during the course of the rental. During peak periods and on specialty vehicle a non-refundable deposit may be requested at the time of the booking.
How can I pay?
Andy’s Auto Rentals accepts all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, Amex and Diners. (Amex and Diners do attract a surcharge)

What is the cost of extra kilometres?
|Cars, Ute’s, Vans||28c per kilometre + Administration fee|
|Trucks 3 Tonne||30c per kilometre + Administration fee|

|Prestige||39c per kilometre + Administration fee|

What if I have to cancel a booking is there a fee?
- Cancelled within 25 days of collection – No Fee
- Cancelled 8-24 days of collection – 20% of Gross Total
- Cancelled 7 -3 days of collection – 50% of Gross Total
- Cancelled within 48 hours or no show – 100% of Gross Total
- IF AN INITIAL DEPOSIT IS TAKEN ON BOOKING, THIS IS NON-REFUNDABLE REGARDLESS OF CANCELLATION NOTICE
Can I pick up from the Airport?
Yes. Andy’s Auto Rentals is an approved off Brisbane and Gold Coast Airport hire vehicle operator. This enables us to either arrange vehicles to be dropped at the Brisbane/Gold Coast Airports or we can meet and greet you, some conditions apply.

Is there a deposit required?
Yes, all rental companies require some sort of security when hiring a vehicle. At Andy’s we accept all major credit cards. We also accept cash deposits – obviously there are certain criteria to satisfy, please contact us for conditions.
Do you hire baby seats?
Yes we can supply a full range of baby seats or booster seats at a cost of $10 per day, to a maximum of $50 per hire duration. Please notify us early as possible in peak periods.
Can I get the vehicle delivered?
Yes, we will deliver free of charge. Some conditions apply – Please contact our office for more details.
Can I use another person’s credit card to hire a vehicle?
Yes this can be arranged by contacting us.
What should I do if I break down?
Your vehicle is covered by 24 hour Roadside Assistance. However if you experience issues please contact us on 1300 132 708 prior to calling the roadside assistance and we will advise an appropriate solution. Roadside assistance is provided to cover any mechanical failure concerning the vehicle. It does not cover non mechanical issues such as flat battery due to lights or accessories being left on, keys locked in the vehicle, lost keys and running out of petrol etc. Fees will apply for these call outs.
Can I tow a trailer?
Yes we have a wide variety of tow vehicles, let us know your requirements before booking. Please be aware that certain requirements need to be fulfilled and there is no towing allowed without prior written consent.
Is there an additional charge for extra drivers?
An extra $7.50 per driver + Admin fee is charged. A maximum of 4 drivers per vehicle.
Can I collect a vehicle at one location and drop it at another?
Yes this is possible, subject to conditions and availability. Please contact our office to discuss arrangements with our staff. One way relocation fees may apply.
What do I need to bring with me when picking up the vehicle?
When picking up the vehicle at our office you need to have a valid drivers licence and credit card in the name of the main hirer of the vehicle. Payment arrangements can be made prior to collection of vehicles allowing additional drivers to collect the vehicle. Please contact us for further details.
What is the Airport Collection Surcharge?
The Airport Corporation charges us fees to allow us to operate at the airport, this is in turn passed onto the customer.
Can I rent on a Learner licence?
No, learner drivers are not permitted to drive our vehicles at any time.
Can I rent on a provisional licence?
Provisional drivers licence holders can rent from Andys subject to the following conditions,
- Driver must be over 25
- Driver must accept all liability reductions available
- 4WD and specialty vehicles not available
- Driver must pay a bond on each rental
- Driver must abide by all restrictions associated with their licence
- Driver must supply and maintain the appropriate P plates for display on the vehicle
How am I assured of the vehicles condition?
Prior to your arrival – The vehicles are maintained and serviced regularly. Your vehicle will undergo a full inspection and detail.
On arrival – Our staff will escort you around the vehicle and conduct a joint inspection of the vehicle. You will then get a copy of the vehicle condition report. If you are picking up from an Airport location you will find the completed vehicle condition report in the vehicle. You are required to inspect the vehicle and advise us immediately if you notice anything contrary to what is on the vehicle condition report.
On Return – Our staff will inspect the vehicle to ensure the vehicle is in the same condition as it left.
As an additional safeguard we photograph all vehicles as part of the inspection process and these are kept on file to identify any existing damage as well as the fuel level and kilometre readings.
Is the vehicle covered by insurance?
Does my travel Insurance cover me if I have an accident?
All insurers and policies are different. We suggest that you read your policy details or contact your insurance provider. If you cannot ascertain whether you are covered we would suggest that you reduce the liability. We have been made aware by previous renters that some travel insurance policies will only offer cover on the understanding that you take all liability reductions offered to you as part of the rental.
What if I return the vehicle late?
If you need to return a vehicle late we give a one hour grace period then we charge an hourly rate for 3 hours then a full days payment is required. Please advise us immediately when you know you will be running late. This will enable us to organize an alternate vehicle for the next renter and avoid disruption to their schedule.
How many free kilometres do I get per day?
This information will be shown on your quote or reservation as some vehicles will differ. Please contact our staff if you have any further questions regarding kilometre allowances for specific vehicles.
Can I use another person’s Credit Card to pay?
You can use another person’s credit card for the payment if they are prepared to become the main hirer of the vehicle, hold a valid current credit card and be present on arrival. Should the card holder not be able to attend the collection of the vehicle, an Authority Form can be completed by the card holder prior to the day of collection. Please speak to our Staff for further information regarding this. You will then be added to the contract as an additional driver.
Is there a security bond or holding deposit?
A security bond is required in the way of a pre-authorization to your credit card that is used as a form of protection whilst you are renting a vehicle. Please note that it is your bank that will hold the pre-authorisation and not Andy’s. In most cases, a pre-authorisation is released by your bank within 7 business days.
Do the “daily rates” vary and will they change if I call back to book?
Our rental rates are subject to availability and demand and do change regularly. We quote rates based on availability at the time of the quote. Once a reservation has been made we can confirm all fees and charges.
Can I extend the rental duration?
Extending the rental duration is possible at time of check out or during the rental itself. You will need to contact us to advise duration of the extension required and to arrange payment. The extension is subject to vehicle availability and extra payment being received.
Can I modify my reservation once it is confirmed?
Confirmed reservations can be altered however they are subject to availability. It may be necessary to alter the cost of the rental if dates, length of hire and/or vehicle category are amended. We may need to cancel the existing reservation and re-quote.
Can I get a quote without making a reservation?
Yes you may request a quote and check availability without making a reservation online or over the phone. You can have the quote emailed to you or you can proceed to making a reservation at that point if you desire.
Additional drivers must present a current driver’s licence at the time of hire. You can have 1 additional driver free of charge. If you require more additional drivers charges will apply. A maximum of 4 drivers per vehicle is permitted. Warning – All drivers of the hire vehicle must be noted on the contract, otherwise the insurance can be voided.

We ask all customers to return fuel to the original starting level at commencement of hire. If the fuel level is not the same as pick up level a refuelling charge will apply. Fuel usage options are available, please ask our friendly staff at the time of rental.
