Car Hire Terms & Conditions
Requirements
| Licences: | Drivers must be a minimum age of 21 years and hold a current Australian, overseas or International driver’s licence (All licences must be in English) |
| Age: | Drivers between the ages 21 to 24 years are restricted to certain types of vehicles they can hire. A surcharge of $5 per day will apply to drivers under the age of 25 years. |
| Payment: | Is to be made in full at the time of collection, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Amex and Diners cards. Cash is also accepted but certain conditions apply. A signed authorised imprint of a credit card is required. Amount will vary depending on which liability option is taken, this will be released on completion of the hire and vehicle is checked in. All payments are in Australian dollars. |
INSURANCE OPTIONS
All vehicles are insured the hirer is given the benefit of this coverage. Please click here for all liability options available.
ADDITIONAL DRIVERS
Additional drivers must present a current driver's licence at the time of hire. A maximum of 4 drivers per vehicle is permitted. Warning – All drivers of the hire vehicle must be noted on the contract, otherwise the insurance can be voided.
RENTAL DURATION
A rental day is 24 hours from commencement of rental. Each extra hour is charged at the rate of 1/3 the daily rate until the full daily rate is reached.
SMOKING
All vehicles are “Smoke Free” any detection that smoking has occurred will attract a $100 cleaning and deodorising fee.
TRAFFIC INFRINGEMENTS
Traffic Infringement are the responsibility of the hirer, an administration fee of $100.00 will be charged in addition to the fine.
FUEL
We ask all customers to return fuel to the original starting level at commencement of hire. Fuel usage options are available, please ask Customer Sales Assistant at the time of rental.
ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE
24 hour assistance is included with all rentals. However human error call out (e.g. keys locked in vehicle, run out of fuel, leaving lights on to flatten battery etc) will incur a fee which will be charged to the hirer.
AREA OF USE
The area of use is restricted to the East Coast of Australia. From Queensland (Port Douglas) through New South Wales, ACT to Victoria. Driving outside of these areas without written permission from Andy’s Auto Rentals will void the insurance.
STREET DIRECTORY AND GPS
Street Directories/maps are supplied free of charge. If the directories are not returned with the vehicle a $50 fee will be charged.
GPS are available at a cost of $7.00 per day. Full replacement cost will be charged if the GPS unit is not returned or damaged.
CANCELLATION FEES

| Cancelled within 24 hours of no show | 100% of Gross Total |
REFUNDS
No refunds are given for early returns or late collections. Any changes to your plans must be notified to Andy’s Auto Rentals.
TOWING
When towing, any damage cause by the trailer and or load will be the sole responsibility of the hirer. This includes damage to the tow vehicle and any third party property. Prior to towing written authoristation must be received from Andy’s Auto Rentals.
4WD OFF ROAD
There are special conditions and areas of use. Please contact the office of Andy’s Auto Rentals for further information.
MOTORCYCLES
We hire various types of motorcycles, as they are a specialised product, minimum age requirement is 25 years and a current open licence is required. Previous riding experience is a must for insurance details click here.
TRUCKS
All hirers of trucks must have the appropriate level of licence. Trucks are not to be overloaded. All fines and any damaged caused by or to the trucks will be at the hirer’s expense. Speeding Fines and traffic infringements will incur a further $100 administration fee.
