Toyota Coaster 21 Seat Durability
Inside and out, the Toyota Coaster is built to last. With extensive use of
anti-corrosion steels, anti-chip paint applied to front and rear wheel arches,
tinted windows protecting the interior upholstery, and Toyota's standard high
level of mechanical reliability throughout, you maximise the return on your
investment by spending more time on the road and less time in the shop.
Toyota Coaster 21 Seat Passenger comfort
A comfortable passenger is a happy passenger. The Coaster boasts generous
headroom and legroom, ample space between seats, high ceiling, large windows,
4 speaker MP3 compatible CD sound system with audio input jack, air conditioning,
cloth seats, heating, tinted windows, and large comfortable (and attractive)
seats. All seats are mounted with single posts, which maximises legroom and
allows passengers to easily fit their baggage under the seats.
From August 2007 production the rear 6th row seats have been changed from
two one person seats to a single two person bench seat. What's more, thanks
to long tapered rear leaf springs and independent front suspension with double
wishbones and upper torsion bar, the Coaster delivers a comfortable, stable
ride, with minimal body roll.
Toyota Coaster 21 Seat 4 speaker CD sound system
No need for passenger singalongs on the Coaster. With a 4 speaker CD system,
you can leave the singing to the experts. Now with the addition of an audio
input jack you can plug in your iPod® or MP3 player to make those long trips
even more enjoyable.
Other audio features include:
- AM/FM radio
- Public Address (PA) system and microphone
- 40Wx4 max. power
- Owner Set Security Pin
Toyota Coaster 21 Seat driver comfort
When you spend all day at the wheel, you really value your creature comforts.
And Toyota Coaster gives you plenty. It all starts with an ergonomic seat,
dash, gear lever, and steering wheel combination. From there, the list goes
on… Power steering, rear demister, air conditioning, intermittent wipers,
adjustable driver’s bucket seat with lumbar support, tilt adjustable steering
wheel, convex left mirror, a large brake booster for smooth braking and 14.4m
turning circle.
In addition Coasters from August 2007 production have a newly designed instrument
panel that emphasizes a sense of spaciousness. Items such as the driver’s
seat register, combination meter, heater control panel and audio deck space
are installed in a horizontal line facing the driver’s side for easier visibility
and improved operation. Automatic folding passenger door in the Standard Coaster,
and automatic gliding door in the Deluxe... It all adds up to a driver experience
which is so comfortable, you won't want to get out!
Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) seatbelts
With the addition of 2-point type seatbelts with Emergency Locking Retractor
(ELR), your passengers are now even safer. This is a huge advancement in safety
for the Coaster. ELR seatbelts are sensitive to the Vehicles motion and automatically
lock upon sudden stop or collision, helping to keep you and your passengers
safe.
Toyota Coaster 21 Seat 4 emergency exit points
With the safety of so many people at stake, it's a big comfort to know that
the all Coasters come standard with four emergency exits. The side door is
activated by an emergency override switch. The driver or a passenger can open
the passenger side door automatically, allowing a fast evacuation. There are
also side emergency exit windows and a rear emergency exit door which is clearly
indicated with an illuminated sign.
Toyota Coaster 21 Seat ABS Standard
Coaster's Anti-skid Braking System (ABS) helps the driver to steer the vehicle
around obstacles whilst ensuring an optimal braking distance. Speed sensors
monitor the speed of each wheel and whenever the sensors detect a wheel begin
to lock up, the ABS will reduce brake pressure to that wheel. This process
is repeated in rapid succession for each wheel, preventing wheel lock up and
maintaining steering control.
Toyota Coaster 21 Seat door ajar warning
With 20 passengers, there's a lot for a driver to be aware of. Coaster makes
the job a little easier by displaying a warning light on the instrument panel
to let you know when any of the vehicle’s doors are ajar.
Toyota Coaster 21 Seat advanced suspension
To any bus passenger, a smooth ride is a good ride. (Not to mention the driver!)
That's why the Toyota Coaster features independent front suspension with double
wishbones and an upper torsion bar. This combination not only makes for happy
passengers, it also enhances driver control. Add to that the long tapered
leaf springs in the rear, and you've got a comfortable - and stable - bus
ride for everyone.
Toyota Coaster 21 Seat power & performance
Coaster’s 4.0L OHV Turbo diesel engine produces 110 kW of power and 397Nm
of torque which makes it easy to pull out from the kerb, overtake on freeways
and suitable for towing on long trips away. The Coaster continues to perform
when it comes to parking with a tight turning circle of 14.4m making it easy
to manoeuvre in tricky situations. A 4-speed automatic transmission will now
be available from August 2007 production on Deluxe models only.
